Science lab schedule for 2008-2009
2007 Science Fair The
second annual CES Science fair was a huge hit.
We had 30 contestants from second, third, fourth, and fifth grades.
Our guest judges were: Mollye Williams-CMS principal, Tammy Clemmons- CMS
Science teacher, Pat Dolan-local realtor/community member, and Mark Davis- CISD
Assistant Director of Technology. Educational
benefits are numerous, as students develop skills in writing, oral presentation,
creative thinking and problem solving. We
are grateful for their time and expertise. The
three parts to each child’s work included: the actual experiment or finished
project, a display board, and a journal. Judges
evaluated the students according to how well they presented their projects,
enthusiasm, knowledge of the scientific method, and knowledge of their project
content. Our student scientists created many great projects such as germ detectors, volcanoes, product testing, and even a rocket! Surprisingly, we had more girl contestants than boys, 24 girls and 6 boys. Way to go kids!!!! I hope next year is even bigger and better!
